1°   Action d'affirmer. J'avais besoin de votre affirmation pour croire ce fait.
2°   En termes de logique, caractère d'une proposition affirmative. L'affirmation est opposée à la négation.
3°   En termes de palais, assurance avec serment. Prendre acte d'affirmation.
   AFFIRMATION, AFFIRMATIVE. L'affirmation est l'action d'affirmer ; l'affirmative est une proposition qui a la propriété d'affirmer. Il soutint son affirmation, il soutint ce qu'il avait affirmé ; il soutint l'affirmative, il soutint la proposition qui affirmait une opinion.

   XIVe s.
