Mots latins qui veulent dire de la chaire (voy. chaire), et dont on se sert pour désigner les paroles dogmatiques de l'enseignement ecclésiastique ou de tout autre enseignement. Le pape parle ex cathedra lorsqu'il publie un décret comme chef de l'Église universelle.
