certification
(sèr-ti-fi-ka-sion) s. f.
1°   Terme de palais. Assurance par écrit. Certification de caution, de criées. Vieilli.
2°   Terme de bourse. Certification des signatures, obligation du cédant et souvent des deux parties dans le transfert de certaines actions (particulièrement celles de chemins de fer), de faire certifier leurs signatures par un agent de change ou un des administrateurs de la compagnie.

   XVe s.
•   Quand le pape Clement et les cardinaux en eurent la certification, FROISS. III, IV, 10.
   XVIe s.
•   La circoncision leur estoit une certification et souvenance pour les confirmer en la promesse faite à Abraham, de la semence benite, CALV. Instit. 1043.
•   Comme Eumenes en eust pris et emmené des chevaux autant qu'il voulut, et en eust envoyé une lettre patente de certification aux harassiers et escuyers qui en avaient la charge, AMYOT Eum. 15.
