(fa-sa-d') s. f.
1°   Un des côtés d'un bâtiment, d'un édifice lorsqu'il se présente au spectateur ou lorsqu'il décore une place, une rue. La façade qui regarde la rivière.
   Façade latérale, le mur de pignon ou le retour d'un bâtiment isolé.
2°   Particulièrement. Le côté où se trouve la principale entrée.
•   On voit sur cet autel [du temple du Goût] le plan de cette belle façade du Louvre, dont on n'est point redevable au cavalier Bernini, et qui fut construite par Perrault et par Louis le Vau, grands artistes trop peu connus, VOLT. Temple du Goût..
