inflorescence
(in-flo-rè-ssan-s') s. f.
Terme de botanique. Disposition particulière des fleurs d'une plante, sur les rameaux et pédoncules.
   Inflorescence centrifuge, définie ou terminée, celle dans laquelle l'épanouissement des fleurs commence par le centre pour s'étendre successivement jusqu'à la circonférence de l'ensemble de la plante.
   Inflorescence centripète, indéfinie ou indéterminée, celle dans laquelle l'épanouissement marche de la circonférence au centre, ou, ce qui revient au même, de la base vers le sommet.
   Ensemble des organes et des opérations qui préparent ou effectuent la floraison.
   Lat. in.... 2, et florescere (voy. fleurir).
