(in-tèr-sè-psion ; en vers, de cinq syllabes) s. f.
Action d'intercepter. Interception des rayons de la lumière. L'interception d'une lettre.
   Terme de chirurgie. Espèce de bandage usité chez les anciens, par lequel ils se proposaient d'arrêter la marche de la cause matérielle de la goutte et du rhumatisme.
   XVIe s.
