   En Alsace, don matutinal, don que fait le mari à sa femme (excepté si elle est veuve) et qui se prélève sur le plus net de la succession ; c'est la traduction, faite par les notaires, de l'allem. Morgengabe, don du matin.
   Autel matutinal, autel moindre auquel se dit la messe du matin dans les cathédrales. Le couronnement de Marie de Médicis, à l'occasion duquel on a démoli et on supprima ce qu'on appelait l'autel matutinal, près lequel étaient amoncelés beaucoup des anciens cénotaphes [dans l'église de Saint-Denis], Requête (1781) des religieux de St-Denis, dans Revue critique, 10 oct. 1863, p. 236.
