Terme de physiologie. Mot créé par Dutrochet pour désigner le phénomène de mouvement qui est provoqué dans les centres nerveux par les agents extérieurs, et transmis aux muscles par les nerfs.
   Lat. nervus, nerf, et motio, mouvement.
