Terme d'architecture ancienne. Sorte de portique soutenu par des colonnes.
   Sous Démétrius de Phalère, l'architecte Philon éleva un péristyle en colonnes au front du temple, et en fit un prostyle, QUATREMÈRE DE QUINCY Instit. Mém. hist. et litt. anc. t. III, p. 260.
   Adj. Temple prostyle.
