(ré-ku-rran, rran-t') adj.
   Terme d'anatomie. Qui remonte vers son origine. Artères récurrentes, nom donné à plusieurs artères de l'avant-bras et à une artère de la jambe, ainsi dites parce qu'elles semblent remonter par l'origine du tronc qui leur a donné naissance.
   Nerfs récurrents, nerfs inférieurs du larynx.
   Terme de physiologie. Sensibilité récurrente, sensibilité observée sur les racines antérieures des nerfs rachidiens ; si l'on coupe une de ces racines, le bout coupé correspondant à la moelle épinière est insensible, tandis que celui qui correspond à la périphérie du corps, ne communiquant plus avec l'encéphale, est sensible.
   Terme d'algèbre. Série récurrente, toute série dans laquelle chaque terme est formé avec un certain nombre de termes qui le précèdent combinés d'après une même loi.
   Ce même ouvrage renfermait des réflexions sur les séries récurrentes, dont, peu d'années après, il [Daniel Bernoulli] donna le premier une théorie générale, CONDORCET Daniel Bernoulli..
