Terme d'anatomie. Synonyme de poitrine.
•   Dans l'oiseau, le thorax, avec toutes les parties qui en dépendent ou qu'il contient, est plus fort ou plus étendu à l'intérieur et à l'extérieur qu'il ne l'est dans les autres animaux, BUFF. Ois. t. I, p. 22.
